When I was working on a MS CRM project last year we tripped over a problem which just affected a few PCs when configuring the Outlook Client. It happened again yesterday and I’d forgotten the answer. Google didn’t find the answer for me either, so thought I’d post it here for me and others to find later.
The error generated when launching CRM from Outlook is “Microsoft CRM Web Hoster has encountered a problem and needs to close”. While not quite as bad a message as “No keyboard detected. Press F1 to continue”, this isn’t very helpful. In fact the message displays when a CRM User has been created and enabled but has not been assigned to a security role.
